Straightened material parameter

The characteristics of the straightened material — its material, cross-sectional geometry, and initial curvature — which determine the type, design, and size of straighteners and their supporting equipment.

Straightened material parameter describe the characteristics of the straightened material. They can be classified in three groups:

  1. Parameters of the material
  2. Parameters of the cross sectional geometry
  3. Parameters of the initial curvature

The straightened material parameter have an influence on the type, design and size of:

  1. Straighteners and straightening systems
  2. Drive units
  3. Guides
  4. Preforming heads
  5. Postforming apparatus
